I'm in desperate need of a sprayer! Right now I am dunking and swishing, yuck! The things you do for your little ones:)

I don't personally deal with messy diapers yet, but the diaper sprayer is what pushed my H over into the "we can cloth diaper" camp. It looks like a wonderful, wonderful invention!

We will be using flushable liners which will be especially great when we are out running errands. I also plan to purchase a sprayer for those times when the liners just can't contain the mess!

We deal with messy diapers by the old dunk and swish method, and I have a small soap dispenser with my liquid laundry detergent in it to pre-treat the diapers before they go in the pail.

I try and get what I can off with a shake into the toilet and what I can't, I dunk. Not with my whole hand, mind you, just the layer that's dirty. I've been known to try to do it via the shower head, but that just saturates the diaper without getting much off. Really could use a diaper sprayer!!!

Haven't figured that one out yet. I have a 2 year old that has very mushy poop and it doesn't just shake off. I have done the old school method of dunking in the toilet but I'm not lovin' that, I would love to win this giveaway!

I currently use a little bit of toilet paper to clean the mess out of the diaper. It's nice and easy if everything is pretty solid, but it's definitely unpleasant if the diaper is extra messy. I could really use a diaper sprayer for the extra messy diapers.

My husband made me a diaper sprayer out of a kitchen faucet sprayer and I love it! I used to princess dunk (grab a corner and try not to touch anything) but after 5 kids I don't really care what gets on my hands. Poo's probably not the worst thing that's been on there. My friend just went back to cloth and wants one so bad so if I win this I'm passing it on to her so she can have the spray love too!

I know I'll probably need a sprayer or something if when the baby starts eating something other than breastmilk

Right now, I rinse the diapers in the toilet and I hate it. It's what I remember my mom doing 19 years ago with my baby brother. I've really wanted a diaper sprayer, but didn't want to put out the money for some reason.

  233. Tawnya said...

I have used cloth diapers now for about 10-12 months off and on. I'd like to be consistent in using them, but started with GroBaby when they first came out and was pretty unhappy with them. I was more happy with the prefold diapers, pins, and plastic covers. I just assumed all cloth diapers weren't as great as I was expecting. Then I was encouraged to try bumgenius one size and love them. Now I'm getting back into them.

I'm still trying to figure out the best way to deal with messy diapers. I tried the flushable liners, but they always seemed to bunch up and then not be there for the "mess" anyways, so we have stopped using them. Somtimes, if I am lucky, I can just shake the mess off the diaper and not worry, but if that doesn't work, I have a pair of rubber dishwashing gloves that I keep in the bathroom and I have to do the dunk and swish in the toilet. We have a detachable shower head that I tried using to spray the diapers, but that made me feel like I was messing our bathtub up too much…kind of gross! I would love to try a diaper sprayer to spray into the toilet!

We've been using gDiapers with the flushable inserts, so messes aren't too much of an issue, yet. We are planning to switch to cloth inserts with our next baby, coming in September. We will need one of these!

We've been using cloth diapers for about 2 months now. It's more work, but I feel so great about what I am doing for my son and our planet. If I could turn back the clock I'd have used cloth with my 3.5 year old. :-)

  443. We are just starting with the cloth, so we haven't been using them long.

My current solution is a spatula. Yuck and gross. Flushable liners didn't work for us too well. They ended up in a wedgie, and I had to peel them out along with some mess attached, and still had to scrape the diaper. What was the point of that? Maybe I didn't give them a fair chance, but after doing that twice, I put them at the back of the changing table and forgot about them.

I have been using cloth diapers on my two boys for about a year now…3y/o about to train, 18 month old, and #5 to arrive in Sept. (Gotta get the toddler toilet trained before then) :)
Wish I'd started with older ones…but I didn't know about the numerous options available today. I remembered the prefolds soaking in the toilet at my house when my little sister was a baby, and didn't want any part of it!

A diaper sprayer would be great! I am building our newborn cloth diaper set right now and we are registered at Kelly's Closet. I did not add the diaper sprayer since I figured we would try the flushable liners. But the diaper sprayer sounds like a much better way to go!

I just bought a diaper sprayer from Kelly's closet and it is awesome. I used to swish swish, but no more. I can't believe it took me this long to get one. Definitely worth it! I also line my hemp diapers with micro fleece.

  470. Crystal said...

I used to use a utility sink to deal with messy dipes, but we moved and don't have one any more, so I was (I'm embarrassed to say) rinsing them in the bathroom sink then sanitizing it afterward – such a pain! Thankfully my DD has been eating more solids and the poo plunks right in the toilet now, but I'm expecting a new baby in Aug and will need a diaper sprayer for sure!

I dunk and swish and flush and dunk and swirl and flush again then sigh. Peanut butter poop is no fun…it doesn't roll off fleece liners, and my flushable liners either bunch up or don't cover the whole mess.

I have only been cloth diapering about 2 weeks but I am desperate for a sprayer! Currently I scoop off the poop into the toilet with a bit of TP and then use a squirt bottle (which is NOT working) to try to get the rest in! We just spent a pretty penny on all BG diapers (which was already out of what we should have spent but we justified that in less than 9 months we would spend that on disposables and cloth won't be so much in the landfills!)and cannot afford an extra $45 for a sprayer though!

We use flushable liners. They have been great but a little extra hassle. If they are not dirty (ie just wet) I just throw them in the wash with the dipe. I am usually able to use them at least once more!
