What would I do? I would donate them to my local shelter or crisis pregnancy center. I figure they've already been made so it would be dumb to waste them, but unless they are 7th Generation (which we have to use at church, no cloth) I won't be keeping them!

If I won 500 disposable diapers I would take them to our local pregnancy crisis center. I know that those women can use them and since they were free and already made there is no reason for them to go unused!

Wow Im The first to leave a comment!!! Well I know that having a baby is very costly so i would be donating half of them to the food bank/womens shelter and half of them to our Health Unit to hand out to families that are in real need. I use cloth and i think even clothdiapers should be introduced to everyone. Even with the cost of the cloth diapers it still doesnt add up to what a family is going to spend on diapers in the long run. I have had 4 kids so i know how tight things can be when you need diapers and groceries etc.

If someone left me 500 disposable diapers as a gift I would take them everywhere to try to exchange them. Hopefully I could get store credit and use the extra money I may have to buy a few cloth diapers and give to lower income people at my church. They helped me with my baby girl alot.

If I were to receive 500 (WOW!) disposable dipes on my doorstep? This is sticky… realistically, we don't want anyone to use 'sposies, right? If there's no way to have them recycled or exchanged for cash to buy cloth diapers then I would take them to a local mother's support center, WIC or women & children's center and donate them.

If I found 500 disposable diapers at my doorway, I would bring them to the food pantry so if a family who was stopping in for food also needed diapers, they would have them.

Now if I found 500 cloth diapers, I would make a great stash for my house and my cousins. I would then put the remaining diapers together in sets of 25 or 30. On a bright Saturday morning, I would stand near the farmer's market and give out the sets to parents who might be interested in trying cloth diapers and being green.

I'm with Jenney, they have already been made, so I would give them to the pediatric hospital where I used to work. It is very hard to cloth diaper for these families while spending months living in a hospital setting.

As much as I love cloth diapers and feel they are the best diapering option (even preferable to gDiapers), I support moms and dads who use disposables. I would keep several to give as baby shower presents and to my fifty or so baby-toting friends! This would let me pool my moolah to buy cloth diaper gifts for my dear and interested friends!

  154. It is so funny how much 500 diapers sounds like until you sit down and figure out how fast those would go! With my twin boys we would go through anywhere from 16 to 20 per day so that would last us approximately….4 weeks (If we were using sposies full time). I have to say we still use disposables for trips, church etc. Also one of my sons has severe excema and we have to use a prescription medication that cannot be used with cloth….so I would probably keep them.

The rest I'd give to a pregnant mama that I know who is in need. she's NOT open to CDing, so I've been giving her all the sposie coupons you get mailed to you during pregnancy.

First, I would find out WHO gave me such a silly gift, because everyone I know KNOWS I am using cloth.

Second, I would probaly try to sell them on kijiji or facebook or something because I have a 3month old son and a mortgage and ei(mat leave pay) just doesn't CUT it!

Well, I'm from Alaska (I live in vegas now) and there are a lot of very poor families out in the bush and up in the villages. A lot of Alaskan Native mothers out in the remote villages have next to nothing for their kids and as much as I would love to convert the world to cloth, I would donate those diapers to them. It's hard enough to get into town to buy diapers and supplies when your paying hundreds of dollars of fuel for your snowmobile or the one good working vehicle in the village. Plus most families recycle and burn their paper/plastics in their wood stoves and incinerators out there in the villages so they wouldn't end up in a land fill.

Thats what I would do with them

Oh and I am a follower and a FB fan.

Hmmm, I am embarrassed to say, I'd keep some for when my baby has to be cared for while I work. Still haven't figured out arrangements, and the daycares I looked into won't use cloth. Neither will my MIL! The majority of the diapers I would donate to someone in need. We have a free classifieds site on the local news website and there are always postings begging for help because someone is expecting a baby and lost their job. I'd want to check them out and make sure it was legit somehow, because I'd want to give them to someone who REALLY was in need. Of course, it is funny how specific those ads are… please give me this, but in this color, and 'sposies, NOT cloth blah blah, and a stroller, but it MUST be a jogger. Sometimes it annoys me, because I'm a bad person I guess! But beggers shouldn't be picky, right?

    Thanks for the chance!

I would donate the diapers to our local children & youth agency. They frequently get babies born into low income families with drug addiction, etc., and family members step up to help care for them. If I did not donate them to there, the other option would be our domestic violence shelter which is always in need or check with our local Children's Hospital because many terminally or chronically ill babies/toddlers are there that have enough medical bills when discharged as is that diapers would be a great present. I would have to include information on cloth diapers though, bc I am that much in love with them!!

I used the disposables that my coworkers brought our newborn (for the first couple weeks). But we so much prefer and love cloth diapers that I would never imagine using 500 disposies again. We put our firstborn in cloth when she was 5 months old, and I never regretted it…just wished I'd done it sooner. Now with our second baby, I was willing to use disposies during the first week or so because they were given to us as gifts…but beyond that, I'd say return the diapers to the store for refund or donate them to a pregnancy care center. In just the couple weeks of using up the gifted disposies on our newborn recently, I am reminded of all the things I didn't like about disposies…

I would probably use some since I use disposables at night & give the rest to either pregnant friends or moms in my playgroup who have a need for them.

I would probably keep them. Our family goes on lots of trips due to my husbands job. I always put our little one in sposies while were gone. I have yet to learn the art of cloth on the road :)

I would love to win these dipes so I wouldn't have to consider using them!

Donating is awesome. But if I was donating actual diapers, I'd rather share the cloth love. So I think I'd take them to WalMart and return them. Then the money from those diapers could be broken up into smaller gift cards or used to buy children's clothing that can go to a Women's Shelter.

I'd give them to the single mom in our church who just had a baby. She's not interested in cloth diapering (I tried).

Recieving 500 diapers would be a blessing to a local shelter or home, and they would need them much more than myself.

Reposting since I forgot to include my twitter and facebook ID

There is a local charity that partners with many agencies to provide clothes, books, toys, diapers, baby furniture, and wipes called Northwest Children's Outreach. They service kids from birth to age 18 and I would donate the diapers there.

I would either donate them or give them to my friend who just had twins.
