For Tuesday's comment, I have also tried using Arbonne's baby diaper rash ointment but think that, while it may be largely natural, it contains elements that clog diapers. So use caution when trying that! Thankfully my daughter, C, has only had one small rash with cloth and it went away quickly

The Northern Essence Salve has always cleared up Jack's diaper rash after the first day, so it is the only cloth diaper friendly cream I've tried. It is also great for chapped cheeks.

Andy's diaper rash cleared up when we switched to cloth. Before cloth it was a nightmare, constant rash. We found Welleda Baby worked the best for us. (That was 9 months ago) Just recently he got a fungal rash that for the life of us we could not get rid of. He went to the doctor 3 times for it and had bleeding ulcers because of it. He spent most of his time out of his diaper (my poor carpet) and used ever cream on the planet, both prescription and otc. The best thing we found for easing the symptoms were oatmeal baths. I blended normal instant oats and tossed about 1/2 cup in the tub. He was better so much quicker!!

My daughter started getting mild diaper rash every time she pooped when she was 2 months old. I first used the typical zinc oxide creams until I discovered the Magic Stick. I now us the Magic Stick everyday and no longer have a problem with diaper rash! I was planning to try Northern Essence salve next time we run out of Magic Stick because of all the good reviews.

Rashes are one of the reasons I think everyone should own at least a few prefolds. The minute my baby's bottom starts to turn red, I find I can clear it quickly by diapering her just in a prefold (no cover) and letting her play like that in the house. The prefolds allow a bit more air to circulate, and they also let me know the minute she's wet so that I can change her promptly. Plus if I am forced to use a cream, I'd rather have it be on my hearty (and cheap!) prefolds than on my expensive diapers.

I haven't officially started cloth diapering my baby yet as he's not due for another 38 days (yes, I'm counting down already!). I have, ironically, gotten a sample of Northern Essence's Better Butt Cream to try for him if/when he gets his first rash.

I am relatively new to cloth diapering, about two months into it. I love it so far. I have not had any problems with rashes. When I used disposables I would notice rashes when my kids diet had something off in it or acidic. Tomatoes were the worst culprit for my daughter. She still has a little bit of food sensitivity with them. I think diet can really affect the skin so not a suggestion on how to cure diaper rash, but maybe how to prevent it. Frequent changing is also a great diaper rash prevention treatment.

One of the things I do, that my husband actually started, is pat my baby dry with a dry wash towel. Sometimes I use the end of the cover I have laid on top of the changing pad as well. My baby tosses and turns so much it is kind of hard to let her air dry without pee getting everywhere! So I try to pat her dry real quick before putting on another diaper.

I recently ordered a Magic Stick for the recurring diaper rash that my daughter has (she's been teething!). What an amazing product! It's in tube form, like a giant chapstick, so you don't get it all over your fingers. If I notice a little bit of redness, I rub some on and by the next diaper change it's gone.

My son still has occasional rashes since we switched to cloth, mainly when he wakes up with a dirty diaper that he's been in for awhile. But now as long as I change him frequently they go away on their own quickly. If he is going to go to bed with a very bad rash I just put him in a disposable with cream for the night.

We haven't had much diaper rash with our son. That said, we convinced our daycare provider to use cloth and asked her not to use rash cream, but she did anyway and it wrecked a diaper :( We had been told Burt's Bees skin cream was diaper-safe, so we gave that to her to use if she really felt the need, but the info we got was evidently wrong, so now we're down 2 diapers. So now she's going to let any redness go and let us air him out at home. We need to try the Better Butter Cream!
