I absolutely couldn’t live without my Bum-genius diaper sprayer. I dread cloth diapering out and about without it. But, I do have to say the sprayer is so awesome it gets the dried poop of very nicely when I get back home to it.

I love flushable, biodegradable diaper liners! I don’t know that I’d have the guts to take on diapering my 2-year-old without the liners. For someone new to cloth (like me – only started within the past couple of months), it makes dealing with toddler poo much easier.

I love my cloth wipes, they are soooo much nicer than disposables! I have the Jolly Bums, and they are so thick and plush. I only need to use one or two on even the messiest of bottoms. I use a wipes warmer and it is so convenient always having a warm, soapy wipe for bums and little hands and faces. I also love my zipper wetbag for outings. I can put soiled diapers and clothes in it and know that it will keep the mess contained and not leak into my diaper bag. I love using cloth diapers and accessories, everything about them is so much better and more fun to use than the disposable versions!

What a hard question this week– I hope I don’t get disqualified by honestly saying I don’t know! You see, I don’t have children yet, I’m due in August with our first. But, I figured if I started learning and collecting cloth diaper things now, I’d have quite a stash when I brought our little one home! In fact, I just placed my first cloth diaper order at Kelly’s Closet this weekend! I’d love to add to my collection in preparation for our new baby!

Thanks for the chance to win!

i’d go crazy without my large planetwise wet bag (with the great curly q design). we use it at home for storing diapers-in-need-of-washing while the washing machine is otherwise occupied.

are inserts accessories? i don’t think i could live without my one-size bamboo inserts. those things are the most absorbent inserts i’ve ever encountered!

Number 1: Cloth wipes, why any one would want to use disposable I don’t know?, cloth easily gets up all the mess and you only use one instead of 20!
Number 2: Hemp inserts, there the only way to keep baby dry all night long!

I love Imse Vimse Flushable diaper liners. They wash well-usually reuse the pee ones 2-3 times and they flush without clogging my toilet. Before I found them, my husband kept sneaking sposies on our baby, with them he embraces cloth diapering:)

    Great Giveaway!

I think a large changing pad is absolutely indispensable whether you are cloth diapering or not. Who wants to lie their baby on an icky table? They’re also great for the emergency diaper changes in the car. Right now I use a Mommy’s Touch changing pad, but I love the large size of the Fuzzi Bunz one.

  64. erinsmomma said...

Gotta love the flushable liners! When I first started cloth diapering I wasn’t sure if I would like it, so I couldn’t see spending $40 on a diaper sprayer, so the liners were perfect. Although I do have a sprayer now, I haven’t really used it yet!

As always, I’d say you can get away without it in a bind, but a wetbag is great. Two is better so one can be in the wash and one can be in the bag. Wipes are a MUST! I’ve found a little spray bottle to keep water in nice to go along with my wipes.

I could not get by without my cloth wipes. When I first started out cding, I couldn’t imagine using sposie wipes with a reusable system, it just didn’t make sense to me. After having used them on my little guy for almost 2 years, I would never use sposie wipes again. Cloth works so much better at cleaning up messes, and it’s nice to know exactly what you are washing your baby’s bum/face/hands with.

I love my cloth wipes. I store them in a wipes warmer. I make my wipes solution with just a little squirt of either Tea Tree or Lavendar scented Dr. Bronners liquid castille soap. It’s a simple recipe, but it freshens up my baby’s bottom really well, and also keeps the odor down in the diaper pail.

I simply could not live without my wet bags. I have 2 knickernappies doorknob bags and these are the best! Although I don’t hang them on the door knob anymore, because I have a tendency to stuff them so fill that they fall off the doorknob. They are really great and I like that I didn’t have to juggle my diapers and try to unzip the bag.

Fleece liners!!!! I cut up some microfleece and some regular supersoft fleece into rectangles about 10″ X 5″ inches. I just lay them in the diaper when I fold them so I don’t have to find them when changing. They are perfect for messy diapers. You just lift it out of the diaper and the mess just rolls off in the toilet!!! If there’s a little left, it’s much easier to rinse off then a whole diaper!!!! Great at keeping creams off the diaper too!

I just push them out of the wet bag into my washer, push the wet bag in there inside out and wash. It is great!

I can't live w/o the hanging wet bag for my daughter's room. It's cute, stylish, & functional. Since her room is on the 2nd floor and laundry is on 1st, it makes it very easy to carry the diapers down to the washer.

Another accessory I couldn’t live without is cloth wipes. When it happened to come up at my baby shower that I’d be using cloth wipes, the general reaction was “okay, diapers are one thing, but cloth wipes are taking it too far!” But what people don’t understand is that it really is easier to use cloth wipes if you’re using cloth diapers… This way I get to just throw the wipes in with the diaper.

I love our wet bags, diaper sprayer, and diaper liners (disposable and reusable), but the one accessory I would not CD without: Hemp liners! We can use plastic bags or baggies in a pinch when we’ve forgotten our wetbag, swish the solids in the toilet and sun out the stains… but having to clean up children (and bedding) in the morning because they’ve wet through- ugh! That’s the worst! We have yet to have any leaks when using a hemp insert (plus the microfleece on top) in the pocket dipes for overnight!

I don’t think I could live without my cloth wipes now that I have made the switch. I love the fact that everything, diaper, insert, wipe can all go into the wet bag to be washed. I don’t have to have a separate little trash can just to throw away a sposie wipe (that’s what I did with #1) because that little trash can is something little hands like to get into and we don’t want that :)

I do love the Northern Essence Wipes Solution… it’s great for freshening my 2 daughters’ bums in the morning. Pretty soon we’ll find out how it works on newborn messes… then I think our new fave accessory will also be our cloth wipes! (Since our 2 older children are daytime potty trained, we haven’t REALLY used the cloth wipes for extensive cleaning… esp. breastfed newborn messes!)

  612. Madeline said...

Cloth wipes and wet bags for sure. You can’t seem to have enough of either one, and they make cloth diapering so much easier!

Another accessory I couldn’t live without is my Ikea changing cover. I find alot of changing pads to be too small, since pee can go anywhere and usually not on the narrow pad underneath. I like to change my baby in the car, so pee can usually roll of a pad and onto the seat! The Ikea cover is like a small blanket that is waterproof underneath. It covers alot more area than a little pad and is comfy!

I also think the diaper sprayer is essential for cloth diapering. I feel that spraying the poopy diapers prevents me from needing to do two washes. I just spray them before throwing them in my bucket and then wash them on warm or hot. I have to pay to do my laundry, so this saves me quite a bit of money. Plus, I rarely have stains with this method.

I think one thing I also cannot live without is my wetbag. Its essential now that I’m mainly using prefolds. Before, I could just wrap my pockets up and carry them around. Now I NEED a wetbag!

  653. Kelly said...

I couldn’t live without my diaper pail deodorizer disks! It makes the seconds where I have to open the pail to put dirty diapers in there less yucky and it really seems to help keep the stinky down in between loads of laundry.

A plain squirt bottle is another of my diapering essentials. I don’t like to wet wipes ahead of time since I don’t want them getting moldy, and so I use a squirt bottle to soak them right before I use them on my daughter. Every once in awhile she gets just a bit on her and she blinks her eyes and looks quite offended!

I really cannot live without my prefolds that I use for changing pads – do those count as accessories? They’re great b/c we use them as diapers on laundry days too.

My LO is way too squirmy to change on a table, so we change him on the floor with a premium size prefold underneath. Would love to have one of the new Fuzzi Bunz changing pads though!

I absolutely couldn’t live without the newborn insert that comes with the Bum Genius diaper. It’s the perfect size every time for that extra absorbency I need, like if my toddler has downed an entire sippy cup of milk right before we get in the car to go out! Even for my newborn, it has helped to contain the liquid poo. I panic when they are all dirty! I also love my Snappi and wouldn’t be brave enough to do prefolds without it.
